Leaders & Teams

The leadership talent programme should simplify rather than amplify complexity

Case

Veronika Szabo, Global People and Organisational Development Manager, SPS Global, Hungary

“SPS Global is a strategic outsourcing company operating in 20 countries with around 8,000 employees. We provide outsourced services for healthcare, insurance, banking, financial industries and legal companies. Our headquarters are in Switzerland, and we have business operations in Europe, North America, Vietnam, Singapore, Hong Kong and Japan.

“Humans are inherently complex, and therefore there can never be one solution.”
Veronika Szabo, Global People and Organisational Development Manager, SPS Global, Hungary

Operating in a global context means bringing different time zones, cultures, languages and variation in regulations together. The complexity faced by our leaders is significant and unavoidable, so we’ve had to design a leadership talent programme to simplify rather than amplify the intricacy.

The programme covers various topics, such as psychological safety, team development, understanding personality types, inclusive leadership, coaching and change management. The power of empathy and psychological safety is without doubt the most important teaching for the participants. This insight helped them understand the significance of creating a psychologically safe environment and its positive impact on their teams. They have learned to reflect on their own behaviours, the impact they have on their teams and how to lead by example.

The positive outcomes of the programme have been significant, including improved collaboration among the participants, better understanding of cultural differences and the ability to work effectively in international teams. This outcome, which has been recognised by the executive team, was thanks to Mannaz. They ensured that the programme was adapted to the changing needs of the programme participants, making sure that the structure and processes in the programme were flexible, while remaining focused on the overall target and purpose – and most important of all, the team at Mannaz was supportive. They created a supportive environment for the leaders, ensuring they felt secure and able to express their frustrations and challenges, which was needed for their success and remarkable changes.”

Since 2023, Mannaz and SPS Global have worked together on the talent programme. The aim is to prepare top talents for senior leadership roles by developing their leadership skills, understanding of the company’s global operations and improving their capabilities to manage complex, international projects.

Coaching & Assessment To navigate complexity, consider simplicity

Complexity and accelerating change have become commonplace in our organisations. Therefore, there is a real need for us to learn to navigate complexity, create space to set clear directions and shape a psychologically safe culture that provides the necessary companionship.
